OUR STORY

A Florida company solving a Florida-scale problem.

Alpinia Labs was founded in 2013 with a focused mission: prove that biological cleaning chemistry could outperform conventional petroleum and synthetic products in institutional facilities while protecting the waterways those facilities sit beside. Operating from Cape Coral on Florida's Gulf Coast, the company saw firsthand the impact of decades of phosphate-heavy, quat-saturated, synthetic surfactant runoff on canals, estuaries, and reef ecosystems.

Today, the biom by Alpinia Labs catalog supplies government agencies, hospitality operations, foodservice, fleet maintenance, and educational institutions across the United States. The strategic vision: become the small business alternative to large conventional incumbents — combining the credentials, infrastructure, and product breadth procurement officers require with the chemistry, sustainability, and set-aside eligibility large competitors cannot match.

THE PROBLEM WITH CONVENTIONAL CHEMICALS

Traditional chemicals lift contamination.

We digest it.

Digests, doesn't displace
Bacillus and enzyme technology breaks down FOGs, biofilm, and organic buildup into water and CO₂ — at the source.
Safe for waterways
No bleach. No quats. No phosphates. Zero contribution to canal, estuary, and Gulf pollution.
One line. Every facility.
Consolidate overlapping conventional SKUs across hangars, kitchens, lift stations, and guest rooms into one biological program.
Biodegradable. Reef-safe. Phosphate-free. Manufactured in Cape Coral, Florida.
OUR SCIENCE

How biological cleaning actually works.

Conventional cleaners use surfactants and solvents to lift contamination off surfaces — temporarily. The contamination doesn't go away; it gets relocated to wastewater systems, drains, and discharge points where it accumulates as biofilm, FOG buildup, and downstream pollution.

Our products use Bacillus microbes and enzyme catalysts that actively digest organic contamination at the molecular level — breaking down fats, oils, greases, biofilms, and petroleum into water and CO₂. Cleaning becomes biological digestion rather than chemical relocation.

The result: cleaner surfaces, healthier drain systems, compatible discharge profiles, and chemistry safe enough to use beside the waterways our customers operate near.
